Walking in the footsteps of her great uncle…
Lieutenant Lorraine Cheesewright is the great niece of Corporal Fredrick Cheesewright who was killed in action on the Kokoda Track on 4 September 1942.
Corporal Cheesewright served with the 2/16 Battalion and Lt Cheesewright walked the track 80 years later with a contingent from their successor unit, 16th Battalion, Royal Western Australia Regiment.
Maroubra RSL sub-Branch joined Coogee Randwick Clovelly RSL sub-Branch and Matraville RSL sub-Branch for a wreath laying ceremony on Saturday 12th November at Coogee memorial.
